Domaine Jean CHAUVENET -- A Pair of 2012s from Bottle

 Domaine Jean CHAUVENET (Nuits-Saint-Georges)

Some 2012s from Bottle
The 2012s here were bottled in March and April 2014.

2012 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru –  Les Damodes
The Damodes is dark and dense with plum pit fruit, structure, and also enough finesse to allow for earlier drinking – even right now. 92(+)/A

2012 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru – Les Vaucrains
The Vaucrains shows greater minerality to its dark fruit than the Damodes. The wine has Vaucrains stoniness with good concentration. The wine is accessible for Vaucrains at this stage; it does have the structure to permit some aging, but I expect that this wine will mature rather rapidly for Vaucrains (which normally is very slow to mature). 93/A
